Following the huge success of our Literary speed dating events, Original Dating is pleased to announce the launch of Stereo Speed Dating. Stereo Speed Dating events are all about bonding over shared tastes in music and they joining our line-up from June 2015. Book early, we expect them to be very popular!
We’ll bring together a group of people, all of whom have an interest in music. Of course musical tastes vary enormously and that’s where our ever popular speed dating format comes in.
You’ll meet people in the usual way for four minutes but the topic of discussion is the kind of music that you love. Be it 90s Britpop or Bach’s Symphony in G minor you’ll meet everyone and discuss what you like and you’re sure to find some common ground.
You might want to play a few bars of your favourite tunes or simply discuss why you both think that Noel Gallagher is the world’s biggest chopper. That’s up to you. If you like your music this event is for you.
What you will need
A sense of humour, yourself and your phone and headphones. Make sure you have your favourite track (or tracks) ready to go. Don’t have a phone? How about miming/singing/dancing your chosen ditty? It’s all about breaking the ice and making those introductions that little bit easier.
How does it work?
It’s the same as normal speed dating – around 15 four minute dates – but with one radical difference. For the minute of your date, you listen to your date’s favourite piece of music while they listen to yours. Then it’s headphones down and time to get dating.
Once the four minutes are up, gents groove on to the next date.
Marking Your Matches
Will mods and rockers finally kiss and make up? Will Bach beat Blur in the game of love? There’s only one way to find out.
Using our ground breaking app – Mixeo – or for the more analogue, a note sheet, make notes on who you meet marking them as a YES, NO or a MAYBE and let our software do the rest.
Were you lucky in love?
At 5 pm the following day, you’ll log in to your account and get to see who you matched with. If your match reciprocates, you can indulge in drum based dalliances, lyrical love or soulful shenanigans through our online messaging system, only revealing your contact details and taking things beyond the opening riff if and when you feel comfortable.
