Another Bank Holiday! It feels like the sixth one in two months. Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining and it surely happens every year but it feels like more this year, or is it just me? Well if you are at a loose end for things to do, then look no further, I’m gonna give you a run down of some of my favourite things happening in London this weekend and of course Monday.
Why not try a bottomless brunch this Saturday, and many of you will have had one already, but not all bottomless brunches are the same!
Bunga Bunga in Battersea offers up some great grub from antipasti platters to brunch pizza’s topped with eggs and hollandaise sauce. Not only is there free flowing gelato but there is karaoke and surprise opera singers as well! It is at the higher price range of £38 pp but has a lot to offer and is more the beginning of a night out rather than recovering from one.
If that doesn’t take your fancy maybe Bingo Brunch at The Candlemaker in Clapham will. You heard right, Bingo and Brunch and who knew it would be such a winning combination! Not only does it have a great brunch menu, bottomless Bloody Mary’s & Mimosas but you get to play bingo, what more could you ask for on a Saturday morning for £25?
Now, Saturday and Sunday have become guilt free nights out and without the worry of work on Monday, London is your oyster. So with the good weather finally here why not head on down to Brixton Rooftop where the beach is back! An urban Beach (actual sand) in the heart of Brixton, in the words of Jerry Maguire ‘You had me at Beach’. Stick on those flip-flops and head on down to Brixton Rooftops opening weekend. Tickets are selling fast, starting from only £10 you want to be quick!
Now if you’ve had a heavy weekend, which I will expect most of us will have, with the addition of our new friend in common, the sun. Why not head down to Old Spitalfields Market for the Free From Food Festival. If you are gluten free or even if your not get yourselves down for some of the best free from food around, the choice will be unbelievable and also contains no nasties. This will be a great way to chill and enjoy your Monday off!
Finally, I have to throw in a little theatre, so why not go see ‘Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour’ at the Duke Of York’s Theatre this Monday night. What better way to spend it than watching six mouthy Scottish teenagers shirk responsibility and generally not giving a fuck. After it’s sell out performances in Edinburgh and The National don’t miss it while you have the chance.
