Best Pubs to Watch The Football in London

Thursday September 14, 2017

So where is good to watch the footy in London?

With the 2017/18 premier league season well and truly under way and the transfer deadline closed, its time to get stuck into the best league in the world.

There has been a lot of talk this season of transfers and the money for players these days has gone off the charts. With Neymar’s buyout clause of around £190 million being met by PSG there is a lot to be excited about.

Also the race for top of the league is already thrilling, with Man Utd starting strong and Arsenal being woeful.

So grab your mates, stick on a bet and head down the pub, but which pub?

You might be the type to watch it down the local or you may prefer to watch at home but sometimes, when it’s a big game, it’s worth making a day off it.

So where is good to watch the footy in London?

One of my favourite pubs to watch the footy is The Albion in Haggerston. This little boozer is a hidden gem with multiple screens showing different games across the leagues.

Now don’t expect 60-inch plasma screens this place is a humble pub, but what you get here you can’t get anywhere else, atmosphere!

The staff are salt of the earth and the punters are football through and through, no casuals I must add, just good friendly, fun loving football fans.

You will get the fans that love football, not the big glory hunting teams either as this pub is a West Bromwich Albion themed pub hence the name. It is rumoured to be closing so don’t waste anytime and get along for a game.

Another great boozer for watching the football is The Railway in West Hampstead.

Now yes, this is a gastro pub, so why not any other gastro pub, why this one?

Well for one its conveniently located beside West Hampstead tube station, the other, it has a great atmosphere on match day.

Typically an Arsenal pub, be prepared to stand if the Gunners are playing. Match day in general is a friendly, very lively atmosphere and some comfy sofas available to enjoy the footy.

The grub’s not half bad there as well as a pool table for half time and of course one of the best things about gastro pubs, is it might not be the best beer but its pretty well priced, for London anyway.

Finally Bar Kick on Shoreditch High Street is just a cool place to watch a game.

I was recently there for a Saturday game day. Got there nice and early for the 12:30 kick off and even enjoyed a bit of Gillette Soccer Saturday before the late kick off.

Bar kick has plenty of screens up and downstairs including a projector screen on both floors for the big games.

One thing you probably want find at your local is multiple table-football tables to enjoy during the breaks between games.

This continental bar is for sure one of the best places to enjoy the premier league at the weekend with a broad selection of cocktails and a decent happy hour its hard to go wrong.

No matter who you support its always good to get out and watch the games with fellow football fans.

My predictions this season are Man Utd for the title, Arsenal Europa League, Slavan Bilic or De Boer to get sacked first and Brighton and Palace to go down.
