About WineDating© - Speed Dating & Wine Tasting in London

WineDating evenings are a great way to meet new people whilst enjoying some great wines from around the world. Wine tasting Dating allows you to meet people in groups of 6 rather than one-on-one like traditional speed dating.

What is the format of a WineDating event?
Original Dating wine tasting events are totally different to any other dating events in London. On arrival you will greeted by our hosts who will allocate you a table number and a scorecard.

Once everyone has arrived our host will begin a brief introduction, some hints and tips plus a description of the six wines you will taste during the event. Everyone then takes their seats and the tasting of the first wine begins. Please remember to arrive on time as we can't always let you in if you're late!

Once everyone is seated in their first group of six (3 guys, 3 girls) the wine tasting begins! We'll let you into the basics of wine tasting and then it's over to you. You'll then have around 12 minutes to taste the first wine, chat and get to know your first set of co-tasters.

When your 12 minutes is up we will signal the end of your first tasting session. At this point the guys move on to their next table and collect the wines for their next tasting group.

It's important to note down the people you want to see after each tasting as you're going to be using our online matching system then morning after the event!

This format continues until all groups have met all the members of the opposite sex and tasted all six wines.

How long do I get with each group?
Each wine tasting last for approximately 12 minutes each. You will taste 3 white wines with your first three Wine Dates then three reds with the next three. Rather more sedate than speed dating but just as much fun!

How long do the events last?
Wine Tasting events last approximately two hours. Trust us, it flies by! After the event you will have met loads of new people so most people stay on afterwards and get to know everyone better.

Where are the events held?
We always hire a totally private venue for our events. Typically our events are held in stylish independent venues known for their great locations, decor and ambiance. Our forthcoming events are held at the fantastic Artisan & Vine close to Clapham Junction Station. Artisan & Vine is regarded as one of London's finest wine bars. They specialise in natural and organic vines a offer a relaxed and comfortable backdrop for our tasting events.

In the past we have held WineDating events at The Yorkshire Grey in Holborn, London and Amber in Soho. Although many of our WineDating events are held in London we plan to bring these to other cities in the UK very soon.

Do you give us decent wine?
Naturally! We only use quality wines from around the world. We take advice from wine experts on which wines to select for our events. Depending on which region we are showcasing, you may get to taste whites, reds, rose and sparkling wines. It's not always 3 red and 3 white, but we try to keep it that way.

How many people attend?
Although we can't guarantee exact numbers we typically limit our wine tasting events to around 40 people. We have found that is the optimum number of people to meet in this way.

Are the numbers of girls and guys equal?
We carefully monitor bookings to control the girl/guy ratio and keep it as equal as absolutely possible.

What type of people attend WineDating events?
Similarly to our speed dating events our WineDating clients tend to mostly be professionals living and working in London. Often attractive, fun and YES - totally normal!

Do I have to be interested in wine to attend?
NO - You just have to enjoy drinking it!

How much wine do I get?
You will be given tasting measures of each wine. The total amount (should you choose to drink it all) will add up to approximately half a bottle.

What happens after the event?
This is the time for you to compile your ticks and make up your mind about the people you have met during the evening. Most people tend to stay at the venue, have a couple more drinks and continue chatting after the event has finished. The following day you simply login to our website, enter your ticks and view your matches!
