Date Idea: Electric Cinema Notting Hill

Cinema’s, huh, they’re all the same. We’ll they are if your chosen cinema is a common or garden Vue or Odeon. On the other hand, if you go to the Electric Cinema in Notting Hill then no matter how good or bad the film is you’re still going to walk away with a win.

As a huge fan of the silver screen, I like to visit cinemas that add to the whole experience rather than simply being a big ass TV. This is one of those.

As far as cinemas go, The Electric is one of the best I’ve ever visited and has bags of charm, character and class.

I’m not a great one for cinema dates, especially in those crucial initial stages but if you take your date here, then your Brownie point score is headed through the roof! This place is the exception to the rule.

So, I went for the first time very recently to see Baby Driver. Without turning this into a film review, is just an incredible movie and one of the best films I’ve seen recently and I’m so glad I watched it at Electric.

My friend had booked us tickets online and asked if I wanted armchair or sofa, what? Are we watching this in somebody’s living room!?

I walked in to this cinema, which is surrounded by the amazing bars of Portobello Road, and my jaw instantly dropped. It was like something out of Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby.

It’s filled with row upon row of sumptuous leather armchairs with small tables separating them. Now, these are proper armchairs, you could probably fit two of me in the one seat, and you are also supplied with a foot stool each as well.

I sat down I instantly decided never to leave. It’s comfier than my bed and they’ll have to physically remove me when the film finishes.

This was before I noticed the front row, they had a bed, an actual bed and by this point I’m getting ready to move in.

What is the cinema without a good selection of food and drink?

That’s right, nothing!

Which means the Electric is everything! You have a great food menu, and I’m talking high end pub nibbles, like chicken fingers, hot dogs and mozzarella strips.

For beverages, you can get beers and wines to make this the classiest cinema date in London. The food is more expensive than your classic popcorn but it’s well worth it and if you’re looking to impress that certain someone then this will surely do just that and more.

While we’re on the topic of prices the standard armchairs are £19 pp which is exactly what you’d pay at any other big cinema chain but without the luxury of an armchair (sorry for banging on about these armchairs but you would too #sorrynotsorry).

The beds are £35 for 2 people and the back row sofa’s are £45 for 2 (prices do vary depending on the day and times).

This is definitely the classy cinema date experience I would recommend because of the relaxed environment this wonderful cinema creates and it’s just down right impressive.

You take a date here and not only will they never forget it but you will always be that person who introduced them to Electric Cinema!
