Days of the Week to Date

Tuesday September 26, 2017

In an ideal world we’d probably all like to have the day off after we go on a date. Whether it be because we’re hoping to get lucky, or we might plan on having a few drinks but let's be honest we don’t always have that luxury.

In London we work long hours and have to juggle the gym as well as catching up with friends and other hobbies we might have.

So I’m going to look at every day of the week individually and give my thoughts on what day of the week you or they choose to date on might be saying about you/them.

Of course this isn’t gospel and I’ll also add some suggestions on what you might do on these certain days.

Sunday is a bit of a funny one, it feels a bit to me like someone is squeezing me in, especially if it’s a first date and even more so if it's at night. Like who dates on a Sunday night?

If this is the case for you, and Sunday is the only time you're free that week and say it’s a first date so you’re looking to keep up the momentum and strike when the irons hot, why not try a day date.

Something that shows you are putting the effort in, depending on how well you know them, take them somewhere like a food market, where you can walk around lots of things to engage with and try, also maybe grab a few afternoon beverages.

Monday is just a no! I mean just don’t.

Most Mondays are the ‘back to the grind’ days, who on earth wants to date on that day.

This day, if there was even any plans, are going to be flaked on. The only time I would consider dating on a Monday would be if there was a specific event or exhibition that happened to be on that day and even then it would have to be special. Of course this is me assuming everyone is the 9-5 Mon-Fri.

Tuesday and Wednesday feels like a let's grab a quick drink tonight, feel each other out and let's not waste too much time incase we don’t really want to see each other again.

Not in a bad way it's just a safe and classic date night. Maybe on a Wednesday there’s more scope for enjoying an activity, like going to Bounce in Shoreditch for example. On the flip side it also doesn’t give too much away, keeps your cards close to your chest.

Thursday is a good day to date, I think mainly because people are ready for the weekend by now and up for a good night. It means you can have a little drink and not worry too much about work the next day. It also leaves the door open if you think you might get lucky.

You can handle going to work the next day in the same clothes and little sleep. If someone asked me out on a date on a Thursday I’d take that as a good sign because its also a very popular night in the social calendar that some people might not be willing to give up for someone they might not necessarily have high hopes for.

Friday and Saturday nights are probably not going to be first dates, I’d say this is a few dates in and you are hoping not to be going home alone. This is when you pull out all the stops and show that you are now happy to be spending time with one another regularly. It can also show that you are fun loving and prefer to get to know someone outside of time constraints and the pressure of work the next day.

Don’t get me wrong this is me thinking in the realms of your classic Mon-Fri 9-5, a lot of people work different hours and people are busy at different times each week. At the end of the day its best to find a time to meet within a week of you both deciding you’d like to date. The trick is keeping the ball in the air, otherwise things can die off pretty quickly, that’s the most important thing.

Looking for a date? You know we run the best events in London for meeting the one. Check out what’s coming up here!
