The Utimate Lock & Key Party FAQ

Our lock and key parties are justifiably becoming the most sought after singles events in London. You have a brilliant conversation starter in lock and key – including champagne prizes - mini speed date sessions just so you can say you’ve given it a go, a great night's entertainment from an exceptional live band, and our own unique matching app, Mixeo, so you can stay in touch with those you connect with.

But just in case you’re still unsure about booking your tickets, here are answers to the questions I’m most frequently asked.

I’ve come on my own. Am I weird?

It’s great if you come with a bunch of mates. But you’re not just going to your local for a catch up after a tough week. You’re here to meet other people. And you certainly won’t be the only one.

Chat to everyone! Our parties are designed to be the great social leveller and we guarantee that after about ten minutes you’ll have met so many people you certainly won’t feel like you’re on your own.

Plus, because you’re not the only one, there will be plenty of people just like you to grab a drink with.

So to answer your question, no. Lots of people come on their own. Lots of people come in groups. Once the party gets going it really doesn’t matter.

We unlocked each other! Which way to the church?

Hold your horses there. First things first congratulations. Come to us and we’ll enter you both into our champagne drawer which will be called at the end of the event. In the meantime, here’s another lock and set of keys.

By all means keep chatting to each other. Just remember, this event is all about meeting lots of people! The more people you meet, the more chance you have of winning – both in the sense of alcohol but perhaps also in the game of lurve.

Isn’t it all a bit cheesy this lock and key thing?

I’m the first to admit it does initially sound odd. But after ten years we’re yet to find a more relaxed way to get chatting to people. It’s ideal. Everyone’s in the same boat, everyone knows what to expect and it’s the best way to kick start conversation. Even if it’s a simple ‘I know this seems cheesy but…’ Our events are designed to be fun. We think this just adds to the party.

What’s with the mini speed date events?

For many people, our big events are their first experience of a singles party. But so many are curious about the phenomenon called speed dating that we want to give people a little taster of what it’s like.

Plus, it’s another way to meet lots more people without having to worry about that slightly nerve wracking conversation starter. It’s just another way to meet like-minded individuals in a relaxed non-pressurised way.

Who should I chat to?

This one’s easy. Everyone. So you’re at a singles event mainly to meet someone of the opposite gender. At the same time, people often find a new circle of friends emerging from our events.

We deliberately run our nights as a relaxed, informal, fun get together of like-minded professionals. So grab a drink, get chatting, get mixing and enjoy yourself.

I’ve met someone I like. How do I stay in touch?

Log into Mixeo. Everyone at the party will be listed on the app. Here you can tick off those you like, those you’d like to see as friends and those who aren’t necessarily your type. The following day, once others have entered their matches, you’ll be able to see who reciprocated your feelings and message them through Mixeo.

Sell it to me in 20 words!
