With Valentine's Day fast approaching, here at Original Dating we've decided to spoil the singles of London with a full calendar of events! First a little bit about St Valentine, and how the 14th February became St Valentine's Day. Throughout history there have been a number of Valentines associated with this day. The most notable St Valentine of Rome who was imprisoned for marrying soldiers who were forbidden to marry. It was in prison where he healed the daughter of his jailer and before his execution wrote her a letter and signed it 'Your Valentine' which is no doubt where the association of love originated and why no doubt why we sign our secret cards the way we do.
It wasn't until Chaucer when Valentine's day became associated with love and not until the 18th Century in England when it became a day of expressing one's love for another. In Europe Saint Valentine's keys are given to symbolise an invitation to unlock the givers heart. Which fits in perfectly to our first event off Valentines week our Lock & Key Party, The Drift - 10th Feb. What better way to celebrate than a party, with 300 singles and our amazingly appropriate icebreaker. This party will be the biggest Valentine's Day Party in London, evenly split male/female.
We have our Valentine's Quiz Dating on Tues, 13th Feb. This Original Dating favourite will be back with a Valentine's twist. Expect romcom movie trivia, love songs with some fantastic prizes to be won! This event will see 5 teams battle it out to be crowned Saint Valentino Quiz champions.
