Yesterday saw Boris Johnson lay out an outline plan that will see a relaxation of many of the restrictions put in place to manage the pandemic.

Like everyone, we are most eager to be reunited with friends and families but from a business perspective we took special notice of the section of the plan that concerned the reopening of hospitality venues and importantly for us, the reintroduction of events.

Further clarification is needed but early signs indicate that we *should* be able to resume indoor speed events and parties from Monday June 21 when all restrictions on social contact are to be relaxed.

Although we’ll approach this situation with caution, it’s great to finally have a date to work to bring back our live events programme. It’s exciting to think that in around 12 weeks from now our hosts will be back in venues bringing people together.

You will have between 4 and 5 minutes with each person, after which you need to tick a box on your score sheet - "yes, I would like to meet this person again" or "no. Thanks but no thanks". Or "friend" if you'd like to get to know them platonically. Make sure that you do this after each date to keep track. Afterwards there is an opportunity for everyone to meet and mingle informally - this is often where the real action begins, so make sure you don't disappear too quickly!
