TFI SUNDAY

Standup comedy and speed dating combined

TFI Sunday is a totally original take on dating where you meet other singles while being entertained by some of the UK's best comedy talent.

TFI Sunday was the first event of its kind in the UK, and possibly the world.

What is the format of TFI Sunday?

When you arrive you'll be allocated a table. Grab a drink, get chatting, and once everyone has arrived take your seat.

You'll find yourself on a table of approximately five guys and five girls. You then introduce yourself and chat as a group for ten minutes. Your MC will let everyone know when the time is up and gents then move onto the next table.

You'll enjoy 3-4 dating sessions before being entertained by the first couple of acts. This process continues until you've met everyone in the room and seen 5-6 fantastic comedians.

There is a break at half time, but you're free to go to the bar at any time, just like a normal comedy club.

How long do the events last?

TFI Sunday events generally last around three hours with most people staying on to drink and chat afterwards.

How many people attend TFI Sunday? Are there equal numbers of guys and girls?

TFI Sunday is attended by 40-80 singles.

We work very hard to ensure an equal split of guys and girls using our unique booking technology. While this cannot be guaranteed - occasionally people cannot attend - most of our events have an equal split.

Won't the comedians pick on the fact that we're all single?

These comedians are professional and experienced. As such they have some of the funniest material you'll hear. They don't need to rely on such cheap tricks as picking on singledom. Heckling, however, is undertaken at your own risk…

Who can I expect to meet?

People just like you. Our events generally attract a young professional crowd who don't have the chance to meet as many people as they would like.

Is there a dress code?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We have no dress code. It's an on a Sunday so people tend to dress casually. What would you wear if you were going to a normal comedy gig?

Should I come alone or in a group?

It's entirely up to you. If you come on your own, you won't remain so for long. Not only will you meet single folk of the opposite gender, it's very likely you'll make new friends throughout the afternoon. Many people come alone so you won't be the only one.

I can't make it. Can a friend go in my place?

Absolutely. Just make sure you give them your booking confirmation and let the host know on arrival.

Can I book a TFI Sunday for my company or as a corporate event?

TFI Sunday, and speed dating, in general, is a fantastic format for corporate networking and events. Drop us a line to discuss options.

Can my company sponsor your events?

Certainly. Contact us to discuss sponsorship opportunities. In the past, we've had product sampling, giveaways and stand space at our events. Anything is possible provided it doesn't interfere with the enjoyment of our clients.

This will help you to keep track of the singles that you would like to meet again and perhaps go on a date with. After a short period of mingling, your host for the evening who will run through detailed instructions and give you your starting position if you are a guy or table for the event if you are a girl.

You will have between 4 and 5 minutes with each person, after which you need to tick a box on your score sheet - "yes, I would like to meet this person again" or "no. Thanks but no thanks". Or "friend" if you'd like to get to know them platonically. Make sure that you do this after each date to keep track. Afterwards there is an opportunity for everyone to meet and mingle informally - this is often where the real action begins, so make sure you don't disappear too quickly!
