Ready to mingle? Our same sex Summer Singles Party at Polo Lounge, Glasgow is calling out to all fabulous 25s to 45s - it's time to step out, meet great people, and let the good times roll.

  I didn’t know what to expect from this event and was super nervous on arrival. The organisers were SO lovely, immediately putting me at ease and making me feel welcome - thank you for your kindness. Bar maid was also so kind and helped ease my anxiety. There were a decent number of people there and it was good to be able to get a drink and mingle a bit first before starting the lock and key game. While it felt awkward to start, it did its job of being an effective ice-breaker. This was so much better than speed dating because you could move freely around the room and didn’t need to spend long in an interaction if you weren’t feeling connected. I honestly showed up to this to simply meet new people and try something new. To my surprise, I met someone who was amazing and we instantly hit it off. Because of the free-flowing nature of the event, we were able to go and sit down and talk together properly, away from the hustle and bustle of the game still going on. We kinda ditched the game because we were having such a good conversation. At the end of the event, it was great having the freedom to carry on mingling if you wanted - but we opted to leave and go watch the fireworks display at the beach and had a great rest of the evening. I did NOT expect that! Thanks for hosting this and to the lady organising who complimented my dress - you honestly boosted me up so much and made me feel good about being in that room - you have no idea how much that helped me. Good luck with all your future events!

  A fun twist on speed dating. But would have been nice if men were encouraged to chat to women first before just trying their key. It felt quite functional then and that they weren’t keen on actually chatting. But I did meet one nice man so all in all a fun night!

Speed Dating in Glasgow, Scotland

The beauty of Speed Dating London lies in its no-nonsense approach. You take an equal number of single girls and guys, put them in a room and give them a few minutes to chat with every other member of the opposite sex.

When you get there

Original speed dating events in London normally begin at 7.30pm. You will need to register with our hosts and to begin with they will issue you with a score sheet. This will help you to keep track of the singles that you would like to meet again and perhaps go on a date with. After a short period of mingling, your host for the evening who will run through detailed instructions and give you your starting position if you are a guy or table for the event if you are a girl.

Meet & Mingle

A London speed dating event is split into two halves, each lasting around an hour, there will be an interval at half time of about 15 minutes for speed dating London. You will have between 4 and 5 minutes with each person, after which you need to tick a box on your score sheet - "yes, I would like to meet this person again" or "no. Thanks but no thanks". Or "friend" if you'd like to get to know them platonically. Make sure that you do this after each date to keep track. Afterwards there is an opportunity for everyone to meet and mingle informally - this is often where the real action begins, so make sure you don't disappear too quickly!

After the event you simply tick who you liked on the Original Dating website and the site works about your matches automatically. If the dates you have ticked as a "yes" have reciprocated you have a match. You will be able to view the first names and message them via our site online without revealing your email address until you are ready to. You'll be having proper first dates in no time.
