About the event

*BRAND NEW EVENT*

Quiz dating is a unique concept of dating and it's exclusive to Original Dating. We've taken classic speed dating format and combined it with the humble pub quiz to make one of the most fun and innovative ways to meet people.

We divide the group into teams of guys and teams of girls. The female teams compete in the quiz whilst the teams of guys rotate around the room after each round of questions, helping each team of girls as they go.

All the girls get to meet all the guys and you get to use our unique online matching and messaging system after the event to message the people you matched with on the night.

There's a prize for the winning team and because it's a group-dating format there's less pressure than with one-on-one speed dating. Book now, we're sure to sell out!

Important information

This event takes place in the private basement bar.

- Doors open 7.00pm
- Event starts 7.30pm
- Speed dating finishes approximately 9.30pm
- Venue closes 11.30pm

It’s essential that you arrive before 7.25pm in order to take part. We might not be able to allow entry if you are late.

  In a lot of ways it’s better than the traditional concept, it’s less intense, less embarrassing if there’s silences as there are 2 others on the table. Questions spark conversation and gets away from the “what’s your name, where you from, what do you do conversation”.

  More activity based speed dating is a must have, maybe moving to other activities like mini golf, bowling, arcade games, etc. It helps lighten the mood and make it less of an interview process that normal speed dating can feel like. Also for next time, have seating spread out amongst the tables. Women naturally sat next to each other and it meant guys furthest from the women couldn't chat to them. Having it spread out will make for better conversation between everyone.

HOW IT WORKS

Arrive from about 7pm and grab a drink — our host will check you in and hand you a scorecard. Once everyone's settled, the host explains the format and the dating begins: four to five minutes per date, girls seated, guys rotating, with a 15-minute breather at half time to top up your glass and compare notes.

After each date you make a quick private note: yes, no, or friend. Nobody sees your choices on the night — that's the point. When the formal dates finish, the room opens up and everyone mingles; ask any of our hosts and they'll tell you this is where half the real chemistry happens, so don't dash for the Tube.

The next morning, enter your ticks on our site and our matching system compares them against everyone else's. Mutual yeses become matches, and you can message each other through the site — no phone numbers or emails shared until you choose to.


When you get there

Doors open around 30 minutes before the start time on your ticket — arriving early gives you time to grab a drink, find your feet and say hello to your host, who'll check you in and get you set up. Everything you need is provided on the night; just bring your ticket confirmation and your best conversation.
