About the event

Welcome to the biggest and best party where unattached Londoners meet first in person, not online.

200-300 people will join us for this exciting night designed to get your New Year dating off to the best possible start.

This event features our fantastic lock & key icebreaker to ensure you meet a huge number of people. Everyone is single, a similar age and we ensure there's equal male/female ratio in the room.

There's prizes to be won as you seek out the person holding the key that matches your lock (or vice versa).

Each time you find a matching pair you'll be in with a chance to win one of our great prizes.

And of course, you'll meet loads of people along the way, all in the stunning, spacious surroundings of The Happenstance, moments from St Pauls Station.

  A great way to meet people. We arrived at the venue which was easy to get to, was greeted by helpful staff members and given either or lock or key. This was a good ice breaker for those who aren’t very confident. As you know that everyone is single you don’t have to worry about checking their status. Every time someone unlocked the lock you were given a raffle ticket to be in with a chance of winning a prize. This encourages you to talk and chat to more people. Would attend again, might just need a bigger venue.

HOW IT WORKS

Arrive from about 7pm and grab a drink — our host will check you in and hand you a scorecard. Once everyone's settled, the host explains the format and the dating begins: four to five minutes per date, girls seated, guys rotating, with a 15-minute breather at half time to top up your glass and compare notes.

After each date you make a quick private note: yes, no, or friend. Nobody sees your choices on the night — that's the point. When the formal dates finish, the room opens up and everyone mingles; ask any of our hosts and they'll tell you this is where half the real chemistry happens, so don't dash for the Tube.

The next morning, enter your ticks on our site and our matching system compares them against everyone else's. Mutual yeses become matches, and you can message each other through the site — no phone numbers or emails shared until you choose to.


When you get there

Doors open around 30 minutes before the start time on your ticket — arriving early gives you time to grab a drink, find your feet and say hello to your host, who'll check you in and get you set up. Everything you need is provided on the night; just bring your ticket confirmation and your best conversation.
