Spring seems to have finally sprung and it's such a great time to meet someone new, just in time for what we hope to be another long hot summer. This weekend the clocks have finally changed and for the first time in 2014 there’s a chance you’ll be able to enjoy an after work drink with the sun on your face. Ah, bliss!
London really comes to life when the sun shines with that in mind we've planned a party to celebrate, it's called The Spring Fling and it's taking place on Saturday April 12 at the stunning Malmaison Hotel – just a couple of weeks from now.
Our big parties are always very popular and we're expecting up to 250 people at this event. If you're looking to meet someone new in 2014 this is a night you simply cannot miss. Lock and Key parties are a different animal to our speed dating nights. I’ll explain a few of the differences and what to expect on the night.
You’re probably already familiar with speed dating, after all it’s been a very popular event format for over ten years. The big difference with lock and key parties is the scale of the events. Even the largest speed dating event will feature a maximum of around 40 or so participants. Normally 20 guys and 20 girls. The format is limited to this number because 20 face-to-face dates, each lasting 4 minutes takes a couple of hours and any more than that is quite frankly exhausting. Lots of fun but exhausting!
Our lock and key parties attract anything up to 350 people so they can be rather large! Rather than four minute dates the format is more free flowing and the number of people you meet is totally up to you. The main icebreaker comes in the form of a small pad lock given to the girls and keys issued to the guys. Your simple aim is to find the padlock that matches your key or vice versa. Naturally to do this you have to meet quite a lot of people and therein lies the icebreaker. Because everyone attending is single and there for the same reason you’ll find everyone very friendly and open. It’s a lot of fun.
We also include optional speed dating sessions within our lock and key parties. You can just sign up on the night for these and enjoy a number of face-to face dates for added dating potential.
So what happens when you do find the matching lock and key? Well this is your incentive to mingle because when you do you’ll be entered into our prize draw. We’ll have a number of prizes but usually you can win bottles of Champagne, gift vouchers and other goodies which we draw on the night.
Of course we'll ensure a 50:50 gender split is attending and with our two main icebreakers you're guaranteed to meet a lot of people on the night! In fact you'll meet so many people it'll be hard not to find someone you click with.
Our Venue
The venue for this party is the stunning Malmaison Hotel Lounge Bar, located about two minutes from Barbican Tube. It’s a great location for parties like this because they offer great service and the drinks prices are pretty reasonable given how smart the place is. We know you’ll be impressed! It’s also pretty easy to get to from most areas of London.
No other singles event ensures you'll have access to so many potential dates in one night and the beautifully appointed Malmaison hotel lounge bar is the perfect venue.
