Always read something that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

–P.J. O’Rourke

I like to think that PJ O'Rourke is being metaphorical when he says 'die'. As in 'I was in the middle of a date, trying to be witty when I just died'.

Making sure that in the moment of death your book of choice is sufficiently engaging may just act as your literary resuscitator.

Enough of the analogies though. Let's not pretend. Finding like-minded singles can be tough.

Online dating is a fraud riddled venture based on looks. Speed dating, if it's your first time, can be a little daunting - what do you talk about? How do you act? -  And while our amazing lock and key parties provide the perfect ice breaker, perhaps you'd like something a little more cerebrally intimate.

Which is why we've introduced Literary Speed Dating. Don't just judge a book by i's cover but by its content (and owner) as well.

Around 15-20 dates. Everyone brings a book. Discuss your choice of book. Discuss each other. Repeat.

You'll find out more about that person in four minutes discussion of literary choices than from what they do, where they come from and do they like cauliflower. I guarantee that.

So can you use this literary aid to steer the conversation onto other topics? Will you find love, laughter or legitimate cause for intellectual angst between the pages of your date? Or will you choose to play with your Dickens while s/he gets all Bronte?

There's only on way to find out. Book now for what promises to be a really fun night of bibliographical brilliance and short story shenanigans (four minutes remember). You'll be part of a historical movement - One of the first Literary Speed Dating events in the country.
