Looking for somewhere to take a date that will really impress them? Well look no further than Bounce, the home of Ping Pong. Who doesn’t love Ping Pong? Everyone knows how to play it, its fun and it’s a two player game so its perfect for a date. You might wanna curb your competitive side unless they happen to have one to, don’t wanna show your true colours just yet.
There are two Bounce Bars located in Old Street and Farringdon. The Old Street one is great, speaking from experience. Bounce of course get its name from the fact its filled with Ping Pong tables. They have some in the main space and also some in a private room. Bounce has the very best ping-pong tables, some even in UV lights, its not your local sports centre. This place can get pretty busy as well so I would recommend booking in advance, with it being a date and all, but you can turn up and wait for a table, although it will no doubt be a long wait.
Thankfully there is a bar to keep you entertained before you start bouncing about. So if you’re thinking it’s just some place that has a few ping pong tables and has a bottle bar you’d be so far off the mark, its unreal. The drinks menu behind this bar is endless, we are talking over 15 cocktails, wine, champagne, beers, cider, draught, IPA, spirits and lots and lots of Gin. Like I said endless! I would suggest the Ping & Pong cocktail and all the drinks are pretty reasonably priced I must add.
Now lets say you arrive early or even if you work up an appetite after a thrilling match, well have no fear, for they have a restaurant. You cant eat cocktails after all. Again they are not messing around when it comes to food, they have an A La Carte menu, Bar menu, sides, and they even have an Allergen menu. The selection of bar snacks like chicken skewers and nacho’s you can have round the table. The main menu is filled with delicious pizza, chunky burgers or vegetarian chilli and don’t forget the deserts!
I mean I just don’t know whether this place makes a better cocktail bar or restaurant or table tennis arena. Even if you weren’t to get a game of ping pong you would still have a cracking time and there’s certainly an atmosphere. This really is a great date, without getting to competitive you could put on a little wager to make it a bit more interesting. Not for money of course, but maybe a truth or a dare. Either way with this date idea you’ll be sure to hit it off.
