Ping Pong Dating for those of you who don't know, is the new social dating event that has emerged as a hugely popular event on the London dating scene. On April 26th were back at SMASH Wimbledon for our next Ping Pong Dating Event and I'm gonna get you all up to speed with why it's become so popular.
Our first 2 events seen us sell out, with nearly 50 guests attending each night. This alternative dating event see's an activity take the main stage, with mixed doubles ping pong being the main event and who doesn't like Ping Pong, it's super fun for everyone. But before I get into the details of the event, let me first talk about the incredible venue – SMASH.
SMASH Wimbledon is the brand new home of ping pong, in the home of tennis. It's a match made in heaven right!? Original Dating is lucky enough to have exclusive access to the ground floor bar and we need it for this busy event. This means we have sole use of 3, that's right THREE Olympic standard ping pong tables. The ground floor bar also has a great deal of space and seating off to the side which means there's plenty of time to chat and mingle while you're waiting for your next turn on the tables. The bar has a cracking selection of drinks to boot. It is a Thursday night after all – start of the weekend some might say.
Here's where it gets really interesting, the event itself. Ping Pong Dating is unlike any other dating night, it's a night where we singles can let our hair down and just have some fun without the pressure of one on one dates. Don't get me wrong speed dating's great but this event takes the focus off the dating and allows you to naturally get to know one another in a fun and social environment. You will have the chance to play at least 3 games of Ping Pong with a different partner each time. The games last for around 10 minutes. When you're not playing, you're free to mingle and find the Ping to your Pong.
This event really doesn't feel like a dating event but more of a Ping Pong Party. The atmosphere was electric at the last two events and you can take my word on that. This event is sure to make people wish they were single!
