With the sun is shining who really wants to be inside? Not me!

Where better to enjoy the sunshine than a beer garden? Now, many of London’s pubs have a garden but not all gardens are created equal.

Here’s one that I’m very I’m happy to recommend. I give you The People’s Park Tavern.

Named after Victoria Park, which was created for the ordinary people of the east end. It backs on to the park hence the name. This quirky pub has a lot going for including one of the best beer gardens in the area.

They describe it as a hacienda style garden, filled with tables and quirky little wooden huts with their own heaters (although I hope you won’t be needing those).

Decorated with colorful bunting and lights, it’s quite a picture at night.

Just picture yourself sitting there with views of the park, maybe even pop through the gate straight onto the park for a stroll or even a game of crazy golf.

That’s right, Plonk Golf has one of there 9-hole courses at The People’s Park Tavern.

The menu at the People’s Park Tavern is a classic pub grub selection but with its own unique twist.

Expect lots of burgers from pulled pork to espresso & chili beef. There’s a great selection of sides such as jalapeno poppers and cheesy deep fried polenta Chips.

Get in my belly.

They also have sharing platters and a good selection of veggie dishes as well. All round good fayre.

Okay, so the food sounds good but what’s a beer garden without beer?

The People’s Park have their own on-site brewery and a great brew they make too – and a lot of it!

They have some pretty out-there flavors like the Coco IPA which is very hoppy, bitter and sweet all at the same time. My personal favorite is the Salted Caramel Porter, I mean just the name itself has me sold! This is the sweet, sweet nectar of the Gods.

Now remember this isn’t just a pub, it’s a venue and it has some incredible nights on.

Firstly, they have Lady Chastity’s Reserve. I know, the name gives nothing away, or does it?? Basically, its one of those locked room games, you get thrown in a room, which of course is locked and if you cant figure out a way to escape then well, the next player will find your well fed and liquored corpse.

What would a pub be without a weekly quiz? Tick in this box too.

They have DJs at the weekends and live music on Sundays.

The People’s Park Tavern really has one of the best beer gardens in London. More than that, I’d say it’s arguably one of the best pubs around, and if you’ve never been it’s well worth a visit this summer.

I would also say it would be a wonderful place to take a date, in fact it would be so much fun if not perfect. They even have old space invader style arcade machines.

A London speed dating event is split into two halves, each lasting around an hour, there will be an interval at half time of about 15 minutes for speed dating London. You will have between 4 and 5 minutes with each person, after which you need to tick a box on your score sheet - "yes, I would like to meet this person again" or "no. Thanks but no thanks".
