If you’re thinking about trying speed dating for this first time why not make this week the one where you take the plunge? We’re running four events and all of them have seen really high booking levels over the past few days. This means only one thing, plenty of dates for you!
If you’re thinking about giving speed dating a go, this is certainly the week to try it. Here’s a roundup of what’s coming up.
Tomorrow night, Wednesday July 16 were running our special event just for people in their thirties. This takes place at the Match Bar in the West End, just a five minute walk from Oxford Circus Station. This venue is slightly smaller than some of the places we use and we can take a comfortable maximum of 16 girls and 16 guys. We’ve already sold out of female places for this event and at time of writing there’s only four male places left to sell.
This is what we’d call a guaranteed sell-out so guys, if you’re in your 30s and looking to meet lots of girls that are keen to meet you, you really should be signing up to this one.
We hire a private room at The Match Bar for this event known as The VIP lounge. It’s cosy but there’s still space aplenty for the number of people attending. Thursday July 17, takes us back to Balham, in South West London. The Exhibit is an interesting venue arranged over three floors. Is something of an entertainment complex featuring a large main bar, an American style diner, a cinema plus a couple of private bars. We’ve run events regularly at The Exhibit and know these guys very well. It’s a really friendly place run by a great bunch of guys and girls.
Regardless of what people living north of the river might think, Balham is actually a really well connected area (even for them) and The Exhibit is right next door to the station. It’s on the Northern Line and the over ground train connected to London Victoria in around 12 minutes and you can be safely back in North London in about 30 minutes! This event is designed for people aged in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties and always attracts a fun crowd. We love running this event because we always find it has a great atmosphere and people just seem to click easily. Quite unexplainable really, given that it’s a different crowd attending every time! Friday July 18, takes us back to Dion in St Pauls. Dion is quite literally in the shadow of St Pauls Cathedral and about a 30 second walk from the station. We hire out their whole downstairs for this weekly event and despite its size it’s often only just big enough for the crowd. It’s not all City suits at this event, it’s Friday night after all and people travel in from across London to take part. Friday at Dion is probably our most popular event and this week is no exception. We’ve still got a handful of both male and female places left but it’s looking like another sell out. The area we use for our events here has its own private bar and is separate from the main venue so it works really well.
Dion attracts a young vibrant 20s, 30s aged crowd and it really seems to get results. Last week about 70% of people received at least one match on our system. That’s pretty good going for one night of dating, we’d say. Book here for Dion
On Saturday July 20, we’re in The West End at our ever popular venue, Black and Blue. Black and Blue is very unusual for a Central London venue, it’s got a vast amount of outside space. To the front they have a huge patio terrace with loads of tables and chairs. This time of year it’s a great place to enjoy the warm weather before and after the event.
Our speed dating takes place in their private bar, Mortimer’s. It’s a smart little area with the ideal layout for speed dating. Booths and tables for two mean everyone’s got plenty of space. This venue is just north of Oxford Street. It’s an easy walk from Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road Stations so accessible for most people.
