London This Weekend

There’s always so much to do in London that sometimes I don’t know where to start. Worry not, we’ve done the hard work this week so why not check out of few of these to make the most of your weekend.

So why not try a bottomless brunch? I can hear you saying ‘Like I’ve never had a bottomless brunch before’ but not all bottomless brunches are the same! Bunga Bunga in Battersea offers up some great grub from antipasti platters to brunch pizzas topped with eggs and hollandaise sauce.

Not only is there free flowing Gelato but there is karaoke and surprise opera singers as well!

It is at the higher price range of £38 pp but has a lot to offer and is more the beginning of a night out rather than recovering from one.

If that doesn’t take your fancy maybe Bingo Brunch at the Candlemaker in Clapham will. You heard right, Bingo and Brunch and who knew it would be such a winning combination! Not only does it have a great brunch menu, bottomless Bloody Mary’s & Mimosas but you get to play bingo, what more could you ask for on a Saturday morning for £25.

So, we’ve all been to a bar, pub or club, that’s a given. It’s the first thing you do as soon as you turn 15…I mean 18 (I’m 37 on my old fake ID).

Going for drinks is one of Britain’s favourite pass times, so why not do it a little different now and again. I’m not saying drinking through a straw while doing a handstand but lets change the scenery. The WC, Wine & Charcuterie on Clapham Common is a 100 year old former water closet, yup, a toilet.

The clever play on words with its name means a few unsuspecting people might walk past thinking it is purely a toilet or get a pleasant surprise when they walk down the stairs for a Jimmy Riddle.

It’s located underneath Clapham Common station, and also with the good weather finally here, there’s also an outside area for those afternoon drinks.

Downstairs is where it gets really cool, with old cubicles converted into booth seating, and the décor is exactly what you would expect with tiled walls and floors.

It really is a sight to behold! Obviously from the title you can tell what the menu consists of, with an amazing selection of cured meats and wines!

Finally lets look at doing something completely new and luckily for London it is the city that always has a good Pop Up. No two Pop Up’s are every the same and Brixton is bringing the beach party to you. Brixton Beach is literally an urban beach; imagine sand, deck chairs, Pina Colada’s and BBQ’s. Brixton Beach offers an experience like no other whether you’re going for a casual drink or one of their ticketed Beach Party events featuring DJ’s and other live acts. The summer is really here and it’s in Brixton!

And Finally, OUR PARTY!

Now, if you're single and you probably are if you read this blog, you could do a lot worse than to get yourself down to our big Lock and Key party at The Otherist on Saturday night. We're taking over this awesome bar near Liverpool St Station for another 200 person meetfest. There's nowhere else in London where you are guaranteed to meet more i people in one night. Everyone's single so it's a great place to meet. We give you the ideal icebreaker too. It's going to be a blast and you can find out more here

So, there’s a few suggestions to keep you going, and remember there’s nothing wrong with the local but it’s healthy to get out your comfort zone every now and again. Have a cracking weekend whatever you do.

The beauty of Speed Dating London lies in its no-nonsense approach. You take an equal number of single girls and guys, put them in a room and give them a few minutes to chat with every other member of the opposite sex.

You will have between 4 and 5 minutes with each person, after which you need to tick a box on your score sheet - "yes, I would like to meet this person again" or "no. Thanks but no thanks".
