Sometimes, you never know where one conversation might lead.
After years of online dating, AM decided to try something different and attend an Original Dating Speed Dating event. What started as an opportunity to meet new people eventually led to a connection that would change his life.
Here is AM’s story, in his own words:
AM’s Story
I had tried online dating apps for several years, and was starting to tire of more hours spent on my phone that often led to nothing. When I saw an advert for an Original Dating Speed Dating event near me, I decided to give it a try. I felt quite nervous, but the host was very friendly, and put us all at ease. Although I did not meet anyone I had a romantic interest in, it was great just to chat to other like-minded people in real life, and make some new friends. This made me try a few more Original Dating events, including Singles Nights - they were always well run and organised, with a very relaxed atmosphere. Last year, I decided to go to another of their Speed Dating events near me - the last person I met was really easy to talk to, and we stayed and chatted for a while after the event finished. We matched on the website and met again the next week. It is now 16 months later, and we are due to get married next month! I don't know if we would have matched on an online dating app, but when you are sitting in front of a person and chatting to them, that you can learn so many things about that you might not be able to tell from an online profile. I am really glad I went that evening, and would definitely recommend the Original Dating events to anyone looking to meet new people.
16 Months Later…
From trying Speed Dating for the first time, to attending more Original Dating events, AM’s journey eventually led him to meet CM.
Now, 16 months after that Speed Dating event, they are preparing to get married.
